Just Before The Last Note Plays

Find me a song that

I can sleep into.

That hears the storms of my head

while alluring me to its bed.

That gently folds me like a towel-

arm on arm, leg on leg,

and further in the middle-

into smaller, neater, cozier shapes;

making me breathe in and away,

the smell of myself and some others.

That puts me to rest

in the midst of its chest-

as its chorus and chords

cushion my quests.

I'll swing and sway and swirl

in that song-

cascading down from verse to verse

in its mellow melange

of music and words;

descending, deluging, drowning deeper,

till its bloomed bottom engulfs me;

just before the last note plays.
