Just an Amnesty

Being sober was a paradigm shift

to appreciate reality.

From capturing the center stage

to take few steps back,

it seemed quite a treacherous journey.

At times, the euphoria was induced

and lacked the fervor.

Not quite like when the spirits flowed

in its all grandeur.

Needless to say,

It was worth the departure.

Loser was not a word

I’d imagine to be on my epitaph,

Neither was it appropriate and fitting

to the life I had,

although an abysmal at that.
