It Is Time For You To Leave Now
By Omar Jawed Shaikh
It is time for you to leave now,
Your residence in my castle is no longer desired,
The gates are open, and the wagon is ready for you,
To take you to destinations that you choose,
For now, the time has come to bid you farewell,
It is time for you to leave now,
For far too long you've abused my home,
Fury of your temper have set ablaze my orchid garden and scorched my walls
Century old portraits, now defiled by your changing shades,
Then impressive sculptures, now deformed...victims of your cynical ways.
It is time for you to leave now,
The gates now wish to forget your name,
The empty apologies you threw that shattered on the floor and cut my feet, now need to be swept away,
And unburden the walls of my heart, where hang portraits that sing your praise,
Your scent in my bedroom, where innocent intimacy we shared, now blown out the windows, to clouds astray,
It is time for you to leave now,
This fortress is no longer a haven for you,
For in the dark alleys unknown to you, reside shackled doorways, hiding feral brutes,
From pitch black abyss, prowl the hell hounds baring their fangs
Protective of my heart, and bloodthirsty to exact vengeance,
It is time for you to leave now,
They hunt for you in every room, and purge every memory of you,
To devour your soul, tear away your pride, and your dirty gaze,
So my dear, leave quickly. Towards you they pace,
For they are well versed with the alluring scent of their prey.
