Original Submission by Nicole Cummings

It can’t be, can it?

It can’t be rape without a fight.

It can’t be rape without blood.

It can’t be rape without a ‘no.’

But

The ‘yes’ was absent.

The ‘stop’ was ignored.

The ‘boundaries’ were broken.

I trusted him

It can’t be rape?

But

Dear child,

Submission isn’t consent!
