Isarah

The melting delicacy of that face
Thy Vestal beauty, true and chaste
Haste, brimming away from mine heart
Thou art beaming, and I dreaming dark.
With dripping honey mine ears wert blessed
Dost thou fathom they are weeping now
How much they miss thy voice in my unrest
And that seldom splotch of kiss on thy parted brow.
Had thee but known the fluttering of mine heart
With that glacè scent of thine
Time to time I longed to breathe
Though my nostrils are flared with tar and lime
ensuing thy departure.
Never not touched thee more
In my diffidence, yet the time I did
Seasons lost their sense like never before
Evermore, I’d never recur the lived.
All my sight, sense, and smell, all that I see
Hath somehow lost its zest and glee
Sea of thy bounty I have lost
Which I never had but I loved, I loved by my troth
For all I pray is to ‘save thee’
For this unloved world, if not me.
