Is This Love - Visit To My Ent Surgeon

By Rajeev Nair

Was it a coincidence that we met,

All my jittery inhibitions were at rest,

I walked into your former clinic then,

The guy there claimed you changed your den!

Passed along your number so I could call,

Your picture on Practo is similar to a doll

I dialed in waiting to hear your voice,

'Hello who’s this?' my eardrum rejoiced

There on, I told you my purpose to meet,

You said, how about six in the evening please!

I was firm, anything for me sounds fine,

Thank God, rhyming for you aren’t a crime!

First meet you didn’t drop your mask,

Those Beautiful eyes were at talking task,

I did not blink for a second in there

Seeing your earrings move in pair

Weren’t you dazzling dressed all blue?

Reflections all around embraced the hue,

The pen that you held up in your hand,

Danced around your fingers amazingly grand,

The white prescription that you wrote in

About all the meds that I need to pop in!

Second meet is only when you dropped your mask,

Oops! Goddess right next to me does ask.

All right so, how are you feeling today?

Gosh! I really had so much to say!

Glittering off white was the color of your dress,

Lustrous black hair and super flowing tress,

Happy that the medicines kicked in right,

Such a privilege to cherish every second of your sight!

Someone knocked on the door I leaned on to see

Appeared a lady up there serving the tea

The way you moved around in your chair,

Could not move my eyes, I froze to stare

All the random poetry stuff we spoke,

Connecting dots these barriers we broke!

Treating me with scalpel pen or stethoscope?

How you cracked up on this silliest joke,

So soothing to listen to your line or two,

How simply did we vibe, me, and you!

That is when your phone rings again,

Parting ways for the day is really a pain,

We got down the stairs you turned to your left

Stealing my heart away, you are accused of theft!

I can keep going on and on and on...

To eternity, from the time we were born!

I recall you telling me it is all for the good,

Eventually we are part of the same neighborhood,

Now from the time I have known your existence,

My mind just rhymes it all with at most persistence,

Wonder all this while, where have you been,

I got a broader shoulder Doc, you might wana lean!
