Interpreting Freedom
By Sahana Kanagaraj
According to you, freedom is liberation
An intrinsic temptation
To oblige by the external manipulation,
Under the term of an independent nation.
I watch as you ring freedom’s knell
And above the coffin goes in the final nail;
Inside the box lay freedom which fell
When the seas were soaring, and it had to lower its sail.
The interpretation of this wonderful opportunity of life, Tore me to pieces as I watch you strive
To prove that your with shall thrive
Watch as you plunge into the depth of desperation, you dive.
And then God forbid that truth lighten thy holy ideology, Covered by pride hardly comes out the apology
See your eyes searching for the perfect analogy
To explain your stupid philosophy, rather, your mythology.
The unheard words of wisdom drips as waste as the sand, Unattended and ignored, holding the elixir at hand You left me hanging off the cliff where I stand
Your world made by you the most bland.
Pretence does wear herself as a beautiful cover,
As your own actions infringe your predictions filled with “power” Alas, does the crown of ego topple from the top of the tower; I keep my ears shut as apologies shower.
