Insomnia

The night is long, the bed is cold

And sleep is nowhere to be found

The mind races, the heart beats fast

And darkness creeps all around

The clock ticks on, the hours pass

But still, no rest can be found

The eyes are tired, the body is weak

But the mind seems to be wound

The night owl sings, the silence reigns

And still, no sleep can be had

The moon shines bright, the stars gaze on

And the thoughts, they drive one mad

But with the dawn, the fatigue sets in

And the eyes can finally shut

The day awaits, the world comes to life

And the body can't afford to rest anymore
