Inside The Convict's Mind

As the splinters of daylight crash through the roof

The convict's heartaches for the inevitable doom

He knows the time has come, where the path shall differ from the rest

Yet be the same hell that he was so determined to avoid

This moment on, there is no turning back

No second thoughts, no primordial wishes to be fulfilled

From here on, its a journey never ending

Through the fires, the thorns, into an oblivious reality

When shall it end? Nobody can say

What shall it reward? Nobody is sure

For all that mattered to him

It shall take away his prime

His urgency of virtues, the strength of his youth, the innocence of his beliefs

In the final moments that he lived himself, he asked

Is it really worth all of this?

His answer was the silence that screamed within him today
