Inside a Cocoon

I have rocked myself shut,

Inside a cocoon that might never open.

I refuse to take any light inside,

As it hurts my weary eyes.

The world outside is too agile,

Startling me who has turned pale and fragile.

But one day

This guarding shell will break

And my innocent heart will begin to ache.

I'll have to fly with my budding wings.

To face the maze that destiny brings.
