Indian Beauty!

By Raaima Damania

I am a proud Indian and why shouldn’t I be? I come from the land of brave and intellectuals. A land with very rich culture. The very definition of “Unity in Diversity”. The praises of Indian beauty are beyond what any words could capture. And yet I try to bring my thoughts and respect for this great nation into words. Indian mythology, which we have amongst us for centuries, teach us so much more about life than any other book. The Vedas include so much knowledge about science and the universe and it was written write there even before it was actually invented. Such was the thinking capacity pf the great writers back then. Their far-sightedness and wisdom are just remarkable. From generations the knowledge came down from our ancestors orally. Not just the writings but even every tradition and ritual invented had a meaning, a purpose, which unfortunately got lost with time but the value of it still exists. Wise pandits like Chanakya, Tenali Raman and Birbal through their wit have won all our hearts and taught us so much. Their stories are to take inspiration from. Not just wit we also come from the land of brave. People like Chandragupta Maurya, Shivaji Maharaj, Prithviraj Chauhan, Bhagat Singh, etc make all of us rise our heads with pride and eyes mellowed down in respect. We come from a land of Mahatma Gandhi, who teaches us non-violence, honesty and gave us a united India. We come from a land where great leaders and visionists like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Indira Gandhi, etc were born. Really, why shouldn’t we be proud?

India has a very diverse and rich culture. Every state has its own culture and tradition which adds on to the beauty of India. Right from food to dressing sense, we have a very varied and unique culture. We have different classical dance forms, music, literature, etc. India is not just “unity in diversity” in terms of state or geography, it is also in terms of culture, ethnicity, morals, beliefs etc. It is also in various fields. We have progressed in each and every field, may it be arts or science or business or sports. We have made our own place in it. In sports, India has progressed so much. Where was our cricket before 1980’s and what it is now. In field of agriculture, our progress is so amazing. The spices we have, make our food so incredible and for me better than any other food in the world. In medicine, we have our own Ayurveda, which is effective without any side effects. We have such natural products. In business field as well, India is making such great progress and settling in global market as well. In the filming industry, India has made such great progress and managed to get a smile on the faces of so many people and also helps deliver so many crucial messages to the masses. India has made so much development in all the fields. From being a broke dependant nation, India is on the journey of being an independent and stable nation and the journey so far has been a great success. Yes, India is developing nation but it is no less than any other country. India’s unity and efforts is what got us here so far. India is not just a country, its our motherland. Only we Indians can give our land the title of being a mother. Because she provides for us and gives us everything to nourish and grow. India is such a peace-loving nation. We have always had a defend strategy. India never attacks first but that doesn’t mean we aren’t prepared to face attacks. We show our strength when needed but first we maintain our humility. India is a beautiful country because it isn’t just a land, it is the people who make it wonderful. The sense of unity, hospitality and love you get in India doesn’t match any other country.

The beauty of India is not something that can be seen in the views here, or the dressing style or food, etc. it is seen in the people. You can only witness it by spending time here. By being with the common people. Staying with them, being at home. Staying at a hotel, seeing views, going for adventures is fun but if you want to see the heart of India, you need to talk to the people, make friends and keep open mind towards it. You will surely leave with tons of happiness and a heavy heart full of joy. Such is the beauty of India and it shall never change. Generations may pass on but our culture, our values are deep instilled and no one can separate us from our roots, our mother nation. Bharat Mata ki jai!
