In Silence Do We Mourn; In Silence Shall We Die

The world rots in silence

The tree set ablaze

All clamber for safety

That no longer remains

While few in a frenzy

Choose to decay...

Dive straight into the molten pit

To renounce their lives with a kiss

The shepherd gathers his flock of sheep

To appease their hunger

Now letting wolves

Feast on their bodies

Tearing their flesh asunder

The Great Circus ensues

Venomous beasts croon

And slither across cities

Sneak through holes and crevices

To look for you and me

Penetrating golden barricades

They surround us now

The streets nuzzle up

Against bodies of red

A bloodbath seeking resistance

But don't you see?

Hundreds of butchered limbs?

And skulls bashed open?

Countless lying charred

A buffet adorns the silvery path

Singing this morbid tale

Of discarded truth

And recycled mistakes

"There is nothing to fear" he says

"Humankind shall persevere"

It is only history

Repeating itself yet again

Our prayers unattended

Our blood, our tears intermingle

Muffle our screams

Our harrowing cries

None can help as we burn inside

In silence do we mourn

In silence shall we die
