IN MY EYES

What once was a fire, now turns to ash

From dusk till dawn

How the night slips away into a slumber

What once was a fire now turns to ash.

Snuffed out by the sunset and your silence

I know not, for which one weighs heavier

The mind tinkers on fragmented thoughts

Searching in respite of an answer

Snuffed out by the sunset and your silence.

What once stood strong, starts to waiver

What once was a boulder, now a mere souvenir

Where he lives, no longer a pin I can relocate

What once stood strong, starts to waiver.

See the fire in my eyes

Now a lonely lighthouse flame flickering

Begging the wind not to howl

The final ember crackling

See the fire in my eyes.
