In Love with A Pretty Stranger
By Yash Raj Shukla
Love with a pretty stranger on a train,
Mystery to the heart, a gush in vein;
Unfathomable in all while it lasts,
Unsure in bounds, or purpose to attain.
It's in the unheard voice that sounds so known,
Distance apart, but seemingly your own;
Or in stolen glances of a deviant heart,
Mesmeric sins and a life to atone.
Dreams to stay but for the moving rail,
Quick to diverge to an unknown trail;
A stop for one, for the other a part,
Of some endless venture in infinity's tale.
Reminiscence that turns this soul alive,
Searches still for a home to thrive;
Will sleep in memory's gleaming shaft,
Ages after Love's stop arrive.
