A person with a pleasant disposition and a concern for others is said to be kind. Kindness gets us closer to God. No act of kindness, even the smallest one goes unnoticed. Kindness is something that must be done selflessly.
Showing kindness towards others does not necessarily mean doing something big for them. It can be something as small as being polite and offering emotional support to someone. It can be something as tiny as passing a smile to the old lady who sits all alone in her balcony or giving a small bite of your bread to the sparrow that tweets on your terrace everyday. You can help a blind person cross the road or carry the grocery bag home for the old lady who lives in your neighbourhood.
Each one of us has something to give to the world. We just need to recognize what it is! You can donate your old clothes and shoes to the poor and needy. Don’t waste food. Give the leftover food to those who need it, instead of showing it to the dustbin. Such acts of kindness don’t take much but can make a big difference in the other’s life.
If everyone is kind to others, this world will become a much better place to live in. Practicing kindness is not difficult. Try it and see how it can be one of the most joyful experiences in life.
