Impatience

Impatience crawled into her stomach

Grumbled and squirmed

Tapping fingers strummed a

Nervous twang on the strings of her throat

That replied with a growl of discontent

A deep-seated sigh that did nothing to calm

Surged through puffed out cheeks

Eyes roller coastered across her forked brow

A lemon tasting mouth

Pouted while in her busy brain

The sulky child

Scratched a note of complaint

To the slow moving universe:

It is unacceptable that the slowest truck

Spewing the darkest foul smoke

Drives in front of me

It is against all logic

That the slowest queue will be the one I am in

I find it objectionable to have to wait

Ever!

As her stomach gnawed at the edge of the pencil

The window came down for lunch.
