Immortal Beauty
By Kunal Grover
For when it is night, and the moon shines because of your mortal existence,
For when the sun rises, only to envy you for you are thy brightest star in all of the presence,
If thy greatest wars fought in the history of mankind, was to win thy empresses beauty,
What is thy empresses beauty, I ask thou lord, in front of you?
Far in the Caribbean, when the pirates escaped to the sea,
To find thy treasure of gold and emerald drowned in the Atlantic. O Mary!
I pity on those men whose eyes haven’t bestowed on your immaculate artistry,
For when the titanic drowned and Jack with his weight of love for madame Rose,
I too shall drown with thy love for you if it weren’t your eyes I was drowning into,
For when the lust drove men to mine diamonds and rubies,
What a shame if they found they perish in front of your imperishable beauty,
For when poets wrote Iliad and ballads for the love they never had,
I too shall write in the light that you are the one I ever want to have…
