If I Were..

By Vibha Kaushik

  • If I were not a prisoner to my own thoughts - I’d be a free spirit

  • If I were not compelled to hear the tiny little voice of conscience in a tiny corner of my heart - the journey would have been easier

  • If I were not bound by the chains of culture and conditioning - I’d meet you without bias and judgement.

  • If I were cut throat in fighting my fears - I’d be free of self doubt

  • If my actions were not checked by my values - I’d be carefree and detached

  • If my mind was not kept in check by my heart, I’d be cold and ruthless

  • If my heart was not kept in check by my mind - I’d be foolish and wounded

  • But then again - if I were perfect - I wouldn’t be me!
