If everything knew I'm hurt, I'd be a little less hurt

Original Submission by Ain Umairah binti Zaihan

If everything knew I’m hurt, I’d be a little less hurt

I wish the world stopped when I am in pain,

I wish that time slowed down,

till I didn’t hear a second of ticking anymore,

I wish the tress froze from dancing and grooving their leaves,

and their roots didn’t go further into the soil,

I wish my hurting blocked the predator’s way,

to feast its prey,

and all of wildlife stood still in solidarity,

with my motionless fractured heart and running tears,

I wish my glass shattering sadness amplified waves louder than any sirens,

on the way to save the day but not to save me,

I wish every melody and song became inaudible,

so the ink on every music sheet,

only wrote scores and notes of my cracking voice,

from each breath of my suffocating chest,

when my heart breaks,

I want the whole universe to take notice of it,

for every moment it occurs,

one indentation after another hammers my soul,

I am always all alone,

I am a complete human being,

made from broken mosaics of different shades of blue,

then I walk on earth and realize,

that the yellow sun hugs me,

left to right my eyes see,

the world moves suddenly.
