I Weep
By Pooja Talreja
I weep and I weep alone in silence,
I know not if I even understand my existence.
How much longer until I have paid my debt?
One tiny exit point and I am all set to jet.
I weep and I weep alone in grief,
I know not if there is a release, a relief.
Of all the emotions I have ever felt,
Not feeling anymore is the cruellest I have been dealt.
I weep and I weep alone in pain
I see no anchor to hold me, to keep me sane.
The torment and the trauma pierce my soul,
There is a strong lack of belief I will ever be whole.
I weep and I weep alone in despair,
I feel my inner world shrinking with disrepair.
Find myself succumbing to the unbearable dark,
I am numb and cold; I am without a spark.
I weep and I weep alone in fear,
I wonder if I will ever feel my own soul near.
Can’t seem to find the care to gather my brokenness,
Have found comfort with my incompleteness.
I finally weep and I weep alone in resilience,
I know it is filling my cup of experience.
And with all the learnings I must move forward,
As a woman of grit and grace to be remembered.
