I Was Just A Girl

This world is too dark for me I just want to leave

No one will hear my voice no matter how much I preach

I don’t feel safe alone at late nights

Not because of the time but just because of the people’s

freaking minds

I was just a girl who just wanted to be in her own world

Wanted to grow my knowledge about the things I’ve learned

Everything would’ve been great if those guys had a good mind

But I guess it was my bad because I thought humanity isn’t

dead

I wasn’t even able to look at my family properly the last time I

left

I couldn’t even imagine after seeing me dead how my family

would’ve felt

I had goals of buying my own house

But looks like this grave will be my new one

But I still think was trusting others my worst decision?

I was hurt, I was forced, I was burnt to ashes

Why am I dead though even I never wore any short dresses?

I shouted, I screamed, I cried and I begged for mercy for my life

But no was there who could’ve helped me that time

I still remember those rapist's nasty eyes

Thinking to tear my whole body from inside

I wanted to have peace not to be cut into pieces

Are these all the stuffs that all of these religion teach?

I don’t know if I’ll ever get justice or not

I would be dead so young, who would’ve thought?

You see… the problem aren’t the clothes we wear

It’s just some people’s mindset which is a mess from inside

They didn’t had any regret in tearing my clothes and forcing me

Burning me to ashes was a piece of cake for them

I know I’m not the first and I won’t be the last

And now I’ve became a memory of the past

Candle marches may go on and people might support me

But it’s of no use if people forget humanity

It’s just all about a better mindset

Think of strangers as your family

Trust me this world will become a better place

With very less hatred

Now it’s my time to reach the sky

Please don’t let my sacrifice go to waste this time

Make this world a better place for me

So that I and every girl can breathe happily
