I Scream

Last night I had an ice cream.

Cold as my heart and soft as my skin,

Softened by facing the ravages of time and extreme.

As it melted slowly, it lost it’s previous glory.

Changed it’s state, yet maintained a familiar taste.

Taste that lingered on my tongue for quite a while.

Like those memories that demanded attention.

Memories of remorse and laughter, sorrow and joy.

But with teeth, piercing my soft skin, bone deep.

And my cold heart feels nothing.

Nothing at all.

Memories in flashes.

Memories in pieces.

Memories in all possible ways which make you feel nothing.

And I slurped in my fully melted ice cream,

Like I do to my salty secretions from my eyes,

Which want to flow endlessly but don’t know how.

Last night I had an ice cream.

Last night I think I screamed.

Screamed so hard that it thawed my heart.

Loud only to my ears.

I let my everything out, but didn’t want to disturb anyone.

They might come in another state or forms,

To steal my only ice cream.

They wouldn’t even let me enjoy my,

I-scream
