26 (Twenty Six) Lines

I Pray for Thee

As the day ends, my weary legs craving to rest;

Oh! the two eyes of mine struggle to remain open

But my heart keeps racing faster even;

Another day gone and the pain grows deeper

The new dawn will it bring hope or fear further;

My love hasn’t come home in a long time,

Fighting for a new life with strength and vigour.

His body suffering the deepest of pain and misery;

But his lovely eyes filled with hope

and strength in the finest manner.

I thank God for his grace and blessings,

But its been long and the suffering seems to never be ceasing.

Oh! the heavens, sun, moon and stars

Please listen to my prayers from the heart.

The sirens of the ambulances and the painful aura of the hospital;

Too many years have we bled our strength and riches

With friends who flew far away and fate further

It is time we rebuild our honour and a home to stand stronger.

We have lived through too much curse and agony;

May this be the end of all tragedies.

Please bring my love home soon

Let the coming days be filled with fun filled afternoons.

O thy God, please listen to my prayer,

As I bow with sweat and tears;

Thou only hope and companion

Let tomorrow bear the mark of new beginnings.
