I Miss

Whenever I look up in the mirror deeply,

I remember you as I resemble you.

I miss your face.

Whenever I wake up late and remember you calling me "Betiya, its morning and the tea is ready, wake up".

I miss your voice.

Whenever I roam around the house and see the gardens,

I remember you sowing flowers and vegetables seeds and plantlets,

I miss your gardening.

Whenever I pass the hall or watch the television,

I remember you sitting in your chair.

I miss being with you.

Whenever I walk alone at home,

I remember you being there.

I miss your existence at home.

And whenever my thoughts go in a loop,

I remember that half of the 23 pairs of chromosomes that I have in my cells has been inherited from you.

I feel blessed for my existence and the time spent with you.
