I Lived

By Ayush Dubey

As I reach the evening,

And everything gets blurred into one,

The laughs, the tears and the rest of it,

You have been oh so faithful, my little mask,

But you must rest now,

See, the sun's calls for me,

And I want it to shine at every inch of my skin,

It will wash my face in its light,

As I feel its warmth on my lips,

And my tongue starves for its aftertaste,

And that day, my soul utters the words,

"I lived"
