I Just Wanna Talk

By Amira Wells

Hearing the deep tones of his voice, grasping onto the vibrations of mine.

Sound then caresses my ears as it touches my eardrum.

Traveling to the tips of my stereocilia.

As chemicals rush into the cells, they create electrical signals to my brain.

Topic no matter the size.

Over the phone or face-to-face.

No interruptions whatsoever.

Going on for hours and hours.

Continuously driving throughout the silence, no matter how long.

Evoking the feeling of closeness, knowing your body is so far.

The spark of conversation is never-ending.

Knowing how much communication is needed for the average human.

It only makes me want more every single time it occurs.

Letting laughter fill the air.

Becoming happy for once.

Our conversation taking me from where I am.

Making my mind wander and imagine.

Being someplace better.

Thinking that maybe, just maybe.

That someplace is right in your arms.

I just wanna talk.
