I Have Today A Confession
By Sanjay G. Singh
I have today a confession…
Years back, when the system was in making,
stars, stones and mountains were shaking.
There lived a group who lived on hills in masses,
all they wore was nothing
but some plucked out grasses.
They wrote poetries and stories,
in that world of uncouth class.
Today as I write this,
I wish to think of their glories,
who wrote in the caves in darkness,
wars and in menaces.
Preventing them from carving their traces;
they were laughed on their writing,
tricked, trooped and were sent for fighting.
They were mocked on their style and way.
Today after a millennium,
not a bit has changed in its tray.
I have today a confession…
My writing is not seen as a profession.
Instead, it is seen as an excuse
who was unable to become a doctor or an engineer!
I was looked as a person in rear
who did change and misuse
the very system without any fear.
The doctors, businessmen, scientists and engineers;
have all done great. No doubt.
But still, why do we hear young men shout
through their windows
of depression and anxiety?
It clearly shows
that your system had failed again and again;
and it needed a nympho
in the name of poetry and writing.
I cannot say: Let’s regain!
Cos’ this very work will reach you
in a slower terrain.
Until then, let me write on this beautiful rain.
