I Do And I Did

Wake up in an abandoned bed

A hazy morning, so pretty it felt

The sunrise from the window,

the scent of wood and a relaxing stretch.

Dancing in the mirror,

humming my favorite ballad.

Blood rushing on my cheeks

A hearty smile I hadn't thought I'd have

"Do you love?"

When someone asks

My fingers curl

"Yes, it started in the past."

Wake up in a known bed

A hazy evening, so hurt it felt

The sunset from the window

The scent of beans and an aching stretch

Dancing droplets on the mirror

The shower's humming my favorite ballad

Blood rushing down my veins

A gloomy smile I always have had

"Do you love?"

When someone asks

My fingers curl

"Oh! It was in the past."
