I Cannot Forget

Winter breeze,

Can be overwhelming

Thoughts of you,

Utterly confounding...

I said destiny

Would take me to you

Maybe we aren't destined

It was too good to be true.

And even as I wait,

I'd like you to know,

That you weren't forgotten

Not even in the depths of my woe.

Tragic was our separation,

It happened for the best.

Even though it was deprivation,

Of my soul's very own urge.

So I'd like you to remember,

You weren't my destiny.

But my thoughts didn't flicker,

About how we were- just you and me.

I don't hope anymore,

So I'd like you to know,

Life is to endure...

And you shall live

Through my mind,

Thoughts entwined...

A memory intact for the one

I cannot forget.
