I stand upon the shore that fractures the seas of sin from hopeful whims.
Beneath are specks of dust, each brushing and scraping past me, in the flow of the wind.
My feet.
Soft, smooth, and young. Inexperienced and energized.
I lay upon blades of green among the fortresses of stone.
The sun shines unlike anywhere else, blinding me where it could leave me to be frozen.
My hands. Scarred, bruised, tough as the rock they climb and many in days.
I reside in the caves and in the palaces, in the streets and in the homes, the vibrant energy I bore being carried forth in precision.
My eyes, refined but I pray hopeful, piercing but I pray gentle, knowing but I pray humble.
Who am I?
I used to Sprint among tracks of remnant beliefs in the system.
Watching cartoons, replicating all I saw and believing I could breathe a fresh breath. Believing that I was the token, that the world needed, unbroken. My soul and being would fly with the wind, fading in and out of whims and whims.
My one objective was to be the greatest at being myself. I was comfortably drowning in my own sin.
I'd lead the people, imitating all I'd seen. Wage war against those who discern me. Clean on the records, until you put them into play.
Played advantage, never threw a penalty away.
I was sat on a throne, of thorns and promises that were broken.
Dressed in royal garments of dirt and scars.
Wore a crown covered in gold and silver, but inside I knew I could not deliver.
Fifteen and I'd seen too much for innocent eyes, exposed to the world before the age of nine.
Chasing addictions to mend afflictions with the devil. All my ties
Tied into the knot around my neck where my soul had chosen to reside. A slave to the evil that spread in swarms, too defiled.
Next thing I know, my dim fire had Burnt cold.
Ashes black and Sparks of hope clawing against the truth of my flesh and all it'd decide.
Needed a retribution, ran among plated solutions, yet they all rusted away to residue and pollution.
I ran among the hills and I ran among the mountains, I ran among the shadows and light, the rivers and the gallows.
I prayed, unable to contain the pain every time I'd see my reflection in the rain. Crying out past the heavens to its maker in my shame.
What's there not to gain.
Today I stand here afraid to look back at the yonder days.
At times I fear I may revert to the olden ways, but He keeps me tame. Freed from my shackles when I abandoned the home where I'd found my Fame. Ignited again, burning white in His spirit yet not consumed. I feel no pain. At the end of the day, those times were needed to mold this false molder. Stripping away all the excess baggage and authority on my weak shoulders. But today I have been strengthened to face the dark in every lesson. And grow, traversing the world to honour the Lord.
I am His.
