Hygge

Clatter, clang, rattle, jangle

The unrelenting beat of the hour

The mind like a tossed ocean, the body writhing and whining

The soul in chaos, chasing a moment of tranquil

The pursuit of hygge, a tender intentional joy beckons

The nooks back home sit cognate, eager to be taken

Engendering contentment, radiating warmth as looked upon.

Cocoa by the candlelight, a graceful flickering flame accompanies

The senses dull, comfort permeates all.

Snuggled in a blanket, book in hand

Ease stretches through the body.

Burrowed in the fireside chair, the lamp casting a warm haze

A soothing environ gathers, the mind lulls to a siesta.

Berthed by the window side, softly leaning on the pane

Caught in a restful stare, peaceful solitude overcomes.

Cuppa tea in the opens, a gentle breeze rustles

A mindful stance, a sense of quiet ensues.

Garden walks slow and steady, eyes that look towards sky

Reminiscence of the days beautiful, nostalgia to entice deep breath

A sanctuary of peace, of being rooted and generous

My home is my hygge.

A meeting of old friends, hailing upon the gone-by

The moments charm, with every touch upon the past.

Family gatherings by the festive lights, faces in luminous glow

Soft music filters in, as consanguine hearts eagerly mingle.

The bestie of all times, greeted with cozy togetherness

A deeper bond, musings to soothe the heart.

The cousin with tales from afar, indulgent foods to be delighted

The sharing of a calm vibe, marked by famine of displeasure.

Of friends, family, graciousness; of potent collective harmony

Of committed spirits fostering conviviality, shining aloof but glowing in unison

Of belonging to the moment and to each other, of celebrating everyday

My people are my hygge.

Hygge is giving and receiving.

Simple pleasures, modest traditions, delightful ruminations

Wrapping a relentless hug, the mind and soul in gentle embrace.

To be sheltered, clustered, enclosed

Such well-being as to feel open hearted, alive.

My people are my hygge, my home is my hygge
