Humanoid
By Jayanta Biswas
It’s so faint
the memories of my self
it seems I was a man once
a regular human
blood and flesh
an emotional being
with some pulsating veins.
Everything that I do now
or what I am
turned so fantastically flowing
and inertly adjusting
that even time cannot
have its impression
of the lasting kind.
The memories formed
the experiences encountered
times spent with families
or friends loving
all so naturally fulfilling
and spontaneously designed
yet, they mean nothing special.
Seems it’s a blessing
someone, somewhere did tweak my soul
and the heart and mind
to bring me to the fore
of the perishable bonds
the brittle vows
and their hollow core.
And you think
all of you I happen to spend time with
I have reservation!
Or that I am an egotist
Or my vanity carries me into thin air
flying high
which enables me to ignore you all.
No interactions
even those that you consider special
can register in my system
not the brain
nor the heart
let alone the soul
I am not insensitive though.
The programming is so different now
the codes set within
I don’t know what exactly caused it
may be friction
or the attrition of life
or the bonds I once considered special
chained me within a ‘humanoid’ form.
