How cruel it must be to be a god

To cough up the stars

Only for the night to forget your name

Weep the rivers

While the fawns know nothing of your sorrow.

Your ashen bones run deep into the mudded flesh

Of the child

Man pleading at your heels with the arrogance

Of belief.

And yet hatred swarms the hearth of a god

Blinded by sweet, by the mortality of man.

A god of the green rises

sticky is he’s blood,

thick is his spit.

And mankind knees splinter
