How are you?

Original Submission by Parth Sharma

Hi, how are you feeling? Not good?

"Who's this guy? What are you talking about?"

Hello there, how are you today? Did things get any better?

"What do you mean? I don't even know you."

Hey, and what about you?

"Excuse me, do I know you?"

Nope, but you can.

Also, I don't think it's necessary to know each other by our faces,

but rather to feel what's hidden behind them.

So trust me and tell me-

how are you feeling, stranger?

"Ah, umm..."

Not really good, but still want to say everything's fine?

I know you're not. Neither am I.

And is it really some strange necessity to say that you're fine?

Even when your heart wants to write a letter,

but you cannot place a pen in its hand.

When you desire to become a ruler,

but feel uncomfortable even raising your voice for yourself.

When you're trying to help others fix their mistakes,

but you're the one making the most.

When you take an oath never to victimize any soul here,

but always forget that you are one as well.

When you refuse to dream at night because you prefer to live them by day,

but life makes you unsure whether such a day will ever come.

And when you want that catastrophic flood to flow out of your eyes,

but all that comes out is, "Thank you, I'm fine," accompanied by a pitiful smile.

Have some mercy, friend...

if not on yourself, then at least on that smile.

And if not on that smile...

why not have some kindness on yourself?

"Oh, thank you very much, but I am actually fine."
