Hope and Dread and Everything in Between

Hope

I hope for one more chance

For a better day

And a new beginning

I hope for charry blossoms

And their oh so fragile relationship with spring

I hope for you, me

And sunshine flowing through our fingertips

Melting into an avalanche of warmth and hope

Dread

I dread the ending who so shamefully disguised itself as the beginning

I dread the remorse that builds in my stomach

Feeding on want and weakness

Unsatiable, even in the face of my darkest times

And I start to lose control

I start to lose control as the dread settles in

And I know it is never going to happen

Yet I bleed my eyes out waiting for my due

Panic

I panic as dreams and hopes so smoothly slip through my fingers

I panic as the world I once dreamed for crumbles

Crumbles, while staring and smiling ever so slyly at me

Illusions fade and deceptions disintegrate

As reality crawls it way to me

Enchantment

I become enchanted

Free from the cords that bind me

The spell breaks

Magic tricks lose their charm

And I know that at last

I am me
