You see the hoodie that sits in the corner of my room

It held me close at the peak of my midnight gloom

It didn’t matter if the sun was up or down

It hid the scars that came with a backless gown

Even in storms it took the brunt of my fall

It was a shield that protected me from all

Remember the hoodie, dark like a starless night

I clung to it like a snare to my own soul
