Hold my hand

It's something I wish I could tell you..

You're still in my life,

But you're not in the same way as it was.

Why did you change with me?

And when is the version I loved coming back?

I miss you dummy…

I built a house on our old memories,

That's probably why it keeps falling apart,

No matter the amount of reinforcements I add.

You're still here…

Thats the uncomfortable part..,

I lost the you I loved.

The real you.

I miss the unpolished version of you.

I wanna tell you I miss you.

But the new you wouldn't take it well.

New you? I meant the image of you.

I miss you so much it hurts..,

I keep finding you in my everyday.

In books, in songs, foods, even my poems.

It's embarrassing, I never wrote about a boy.

And how I wish this was a love poem…

I wonder if you still write songs.

And maybe just maybe,

Some about me.

Please.

Let me hold your hand one last time,

One last conversation,

With the real you.

So I can try to bring him back…

Before I let you go.
