She was poetry personified in its true sense.

Her voice swayed in a rhythm only her soul could play.

Even the beats of her heart must've synced with an enchanting verse.

Calling her just a singer would be a disservice

to the legacy she carved, blending purity with elegance.

She never knew me, yet here I am

reverencing her as much as my mother.

Life is strangely beautiful.

I wonder... if she has returned the magic

the Goddesses blessed her with-now that paradise is her abode.

Or, after ninety-two years of soothing the world,

she is gracing the heavens now.

Hema was the name she was born with,

but her father called her Hemalata,

and the universe shortened it to Lata...

Lata Mangeshkar.
