Have I Ever Told You This?
By Toiba Fayaz Khan
Mother
Have I ever told you this?
This pain is such bliss
When I try to find him and reminisce
Those words tattooed on my skin spelt like miss
How can you not expect me to douse into those eyes full of abstruseness?
Those eyes speak me of nations , devotional realms of holiness
I am drowning in this fathomless ,
Dark cold sea in whose bottomless swam my fondness.
Where am I supposed to go?
Should I wade through this flow
Or should I anchor myself and let it grow?
I told him to burnish me with those sequins decorating his smile and let it show.
Rampantly whirling into nothingness
I tried to poetize my chimera and furbish my loneliness
Numbing my spine an ideation erupts, if falling for him is fatuousness.
Hence I lost my composure and consciousness
I gave birth to welted rose , time stopped and eternities froze
Molten poems , unknit words nothing is better than this I suppose
I dreamt of his being laying kingdoms under my heels, fighting my foes
Oh mother
Do you still surmise I devour that what is forbidden without being in repose?
