Haunted By Your Memory
By Syed Mohammad Ismail Quli
The memories of you, like ghosts they linger,
Haunting me with a love that was once a trigger,
To a time when we were inseparable,
But now we're just strangers so irrefutable.
The love we had was once a flame so bright,
But now it's just a flicker in the night,
The memories we shared, now a blight,
As I struggle to move on with all my might.
The struggle of moving on is so real,
The memories of you, like a heavy steal,
Weaving in and out, a pain I can't conceal,
As I try to find a love that's new and ideal.
But the memories of you, they hold me back,
A love so strong, it's now a shadowy track,
That I try to shake, but it's now an attack,
As I try to move on from this love so slack.
The struggle of moving on, a heavy weight,
The memories of you, an unrelenting fate,
As I try to find a love that's now great,
And leave behind this love that's so innate.
But even though I try to move on with ease,
The memories of you, like a gentle breeze,
Still linger in my heart and soul with such unease,
A reminder of a love that once used to please.
So here I am, with a heart that's torn,
Trying to move on from love that's now forlorn,
As I try to find a love that's now reborn,
And leave behind the memories of you that once adorned.
