Had I Been A Star

From the sky above I shall smile

looking down had I been a star

Shining bright, smiling wide, while

you shall walk mile and mile

For all the times you wish,

I shall turn myself to ashes

Only if once could I make you smile

and maybe walk with you mile and mile

To the folks of the orb, let speak

of you good and bad, to the nights shall

you need someone, I will glow and

maybe you can let it all and blame all

of it on the idiocy they live in

To the clouds of your grief and tears

of joy, friend you need them both, fear

nothing but you; and love everything

and you too

To the evenings shall you speak and I

lend you my ears no questions asked

not a word I mutter to you; may

you have the leaves falling for you

and the wind blowing the blossoms bud

for you and let the rain tell you my friend,

your very presence is what is beauty

I do wish to speak to you, and

I will, I shall talk to you

Through the sand and the flora on the land

The rain shall share the tears

of merry and of the sorrow

Only if I could, a share of my love I would borrow

On the nights I shine bright as I see

you as well-lit curve of glee

shine on your face, Oh I envy the day

you wake up and go by, but for as

far the nights you turn to me, I

my friend shall never leave you alone By Deepika Sharma
