Guilt

She felt as if someone was whispering in her ear,

As the subtle touch of breeze passed through her hair.

Being in love had made her absent minded,

But finally she had found someone with whom she was so well bonded.

As she was drowned in her thoughts,an unexpected smile cropped up in her face.

Swiftly she moved her eyes around to see if it had come under someone's notice.

Caught a pair of eyes with firm vision upon her,

Dusky was his skin with curly hair.

An embarrassing moment changed to guilt,

As for her, he had all his heart.

Never ever she had thought herself to be deserving,

To get the love so unfaltering.

Understanding and respecting the love is just a principle to be followed,

But this does not fade away the pain of the love unrequited.

Loved by so many wonderful people all at a time,

Is not a blessing but a curse.

Being in the receiving end demands shattering of hearts,

And it requires a lot of guts.

She was not confused about whom she loved,

But she was unable to escape the guilt of the pain she caused.

She wanted to pause her life for a while,

So that she could calm down the dark clouds, that in her mind had made a pile.

Guilt overshadowed her feelings for everything,

Little did she realised that she was harming herself for nothing.

Being pushed by life to a position,

Filled with harshness and no conclusion.

Remains the guilt for some days,

And then passes away until again upon him falls your eyes.

Unrequited love should never come with guilt,

But still somewhere deep down the guilt never ceases to be felt.
