Before your father leaves for work

At the back of his scooter in the vicinity.

To dream of having your own car

Giving that first ride to your parents

Now you realized the feeling of a grown up.

From asking your parents to bring that favorite snacks

When they are returning from work

Calling repeatedly so they don’t forget,

To them now calling you again and again

Reminding you to bring groceries or medicines

Now you can say you grew up.

From you asking for those few pennies

While leaving for school extending palms

Just to buy that favorite chocolate,

to now your parents hesitating to ask for financial help

Even at hard times due to the self -respect

Now you know the pain of a grown up.

From you getting injured while playing

And your parents dragging you to doctor

Trying to persuade you by your favorite toy,

To you scolding them for not visiting doctor

You forcefully taking them for check ups

Now you realized the responsibility of a grown up.

Yes, growing up is basically taking your parents place

Now your parents are your kids

And its time to pay the gratitude towards your parents

Your kids are also your responsibility

And its time for you to have a taste of your own medicine

Yes, its time for you to control your life’s steering wheel
