Growing Old By Your Side

How I wish

I could grow old with you..

To hold your hands and stroll along

To see the springs as they bloom

Time flies like soft dandelions

I make this wish upon.

To feel the summer heat

Bear its mangoes sweet

The smell of wild flowers and your hair

Scattered in the wind everywhere

To Forever listen to the monsoon rains

Sing the gazals down the lanes...

Splashing memories over you and me

How I wish

We walk through the fall

Around us autumn leaves rustle

To remind us long ago

Under one october sky.

How we were in love

And how I wish I could share

The Snowy winter too

Intertwining our wrinkled hands..

Exchanging those toothless smiles.

On the sea shore we can simply sit

When everything fades into oblivion

Covered with snow flakes

Two little leaves we shall lie.

And be like Andromeda and Perseus

In the horizon a fine day

Upon the night skies

We once used to stargaze.
