Grief

I'm okay, I'm fine

Nothing's wrong with my mind.

Didn't happen, refuse to feel.

Didn't happen, don't have to deal.

Not knowing is part of the fun,

Goes the phrase.

A tapestry of lies spun,

Is reality hazed?

Soon forces of rage will track you down

There's a lot of blame to go around

Over and under and under

You need to drown.

Depths of vile, waves of spite

Only if you play it right

Might evade it?

Even if a little jaded, inspite

But fire slowly flickers away

Pillars and walls begin to sway

Even the mightest kneel;

Why don't we strike a deal?

Path without a tread.

Uncertainty lies ahead

Let's avoid change

Can we make a trade?

Why leave? It's not that deranged.

Getting up is a chore

I can't take it anymore

Thoughts, a tempest wild

I forget how to be kind;

To myself.

Tear tracks run dry

Did I even try?

Just give up, can I?

I am too tired to even cry

lay motionless, emotionless

It ebbs and it flows.

It comes and it goes.

Now finally I see,

It is as it is

And not what it was

Price of peace to be paid

Wounds will heal

and scars, fade.

Hold my grief at bay.

I will be okay someday.
