Green Eyes

Electric, like a live wire.

Sunshine; No smile is brighter.

A voice like chocolate,

The stage is yours to strut.

Dancing in the hallway,

Sarcastic in a pub in Galway.

Up in the air,

Soaring before you drown.

Heartbreak echoes with your footsteps,

To a bakery back on those chapel steps.

Only an angel sent from above,

Remembering that New York love.

Selfish to meet you,

Will I ever do?

Can’t ever break:

Comfortable silence is not overrated.

Feeling warm like a golden summer day.

On a roll, a sugar high.

Might go fishing, you adore it that way.

Who am I?

I’d never needed your accent,

Never had heard it before.

Falling without a net,

Lonely, unlike the lore.

Living in daydreams with me,

The chorus in my melody.

Keep thinking back to

Your face under the moon.

Just another day,

Trying to keep at bay.

Can’t put a price on emotion,

For those olive green eyes.
