Grace In A Hopeless Place

Sometimes finding grace

In a hopeless place

Is my greatest peace,

Where silent storms finally cease.

I couldn’t deny

Behind those lines they lie;

Smile I wore with quiet disguise

Could never silence tearful eyes.

Time to say goodbye,

Though hard, and though I cry,

I fear I’d lose what made me whole,

Yet dawn still whispered to my soul.

The night may steal

What wounds can never heal,

But every scar I carry still

Has taught my heart a stronger will.

If hope seems far,

I’ll follow every star;

For even when the heavens weep,

They guard the dreams we choose to keep.

So I’ll walk on,

Until the darkest night’s gone,

Grace is not the end of pain

It’s finding light through falling rain.
