Goodbye Dearest Friend

Prisha, my friend for a while,

I'm grateful for the time we shared,

We laughed, we talked, we had a smile,

Our friendship, though minor, mattered.

I still remember the first words you said,

When we met that day in class,

You looked at me and smiled and then,

Said, "This guy has a big brain, he'll pass."

And I remember how we used to sit together in maths class,

Solving problems and laughing at the same time,

It's those small moments that have lasted,

And stayed with me like a sweet chime.

Those words made me feel so great,

And I knew we'd be friends for life,

Our bond was instant, and it was fate,

That we'd have each other in strife.

We met not too long ago,

And instantly connected,

It was like we had known each other so,

And our friendship was well-directed.

We shared stories, we laughed,

We talked about everything,

We found common ground, and half,

Of the time, we didn't stop to sing.

I remember the day we met,

And how it changed my life,

I felt like I had a new set,

Of friends, and that was very nice.

Our classmates nicknamed you "Precious",

And it was the perfect name,

You were a gem, and they were gracious,

To recognize your beauty and fame.

In October, you found new friends,

And I pretended not to care,

But deep inside, my heart bends,

As it was more than I could bear.

I used to feel bad and hurt,

As I thought we had something real,

But I didn't say a word,

And pretended to be fine with a seal.

We had some rocky days,

But we always found a way,

To mend our bond in different ways,

And never let our friendship stray.

I'm sorry for any wrongs,

I hope you can forgive,

And though it's been so long,

I still appreciate the time we lived.

I wanted to tell you once,

That you're like a sister to me,

But the words never left my tongue,

And it remains a secret, you see.

You were always there for me,

Whenever I needed someone to talk to,

You listened patiently,

And that was something I couldn't undo.

I remember when you liked Keshav,

But I kept it to myself,

For two weeks, I stayed mum,

And put your happiness on a shelf.

Your jokes, your humor, your wit,

Brought joy in every way,

I'll always cherish every bit,

Of the moments we had every day.

I still remember the joy we felt,

During the annual day celebrations,

The excitement, the thrill that welled,

And the memories that it creates.

Your smile, your laughter, your tears,

Were all a part of our bond,

And even though it's been years,

Our friendship still remains beyond.

Though distance may keep us apart,

And our paths may diverge,

You'll always hold a special place in my heart,

And our friendship will always surge.

I wish you the best of luck,

In everything you do,

And if ever life runs amok,

Remember that I'll be there for you.

Our memories will always stay,

And we'll remember the good times,

And though our friendship wasn't long to say,

It was still a moment that chimes.

And even though our time as classmates may have passed,

I'm grateful for every moment we had,

Our friendship may have been brief, but it will last,

And for that, I am forever glad.

But I wish you the best,

In everything that you do,

And our memories will remain,

Forever in my heart, and I'll miss you.
