Goodbye

It was a story so beautiful ,

So beautifully written.

But there was a thing so vile,

Over the autumn, their friendship became fragile.

They thought they were meant to be,

But none of them realised,

Being best friends is to be completely free.

Now, Her wins don't matter,

His losses don't make her suffer anymore, Afterall, Ego is at the friendship's door.

She could've said sorry,

Everything would've been fine.

But apologizing would mean,

She accepts

What in her heart she clearly denies,

And she didn't want to lie for the last time.

That was one tough landing,

In turn, she didn't clear the misunderstanding.

She consoled herself,

They could still be together,

Still look like a team.

But deep down she knew,

It's time to dig deeper & glean.

She ll look back at the memories with so much more love,

She would cherish every moment she always thought she didn't deserve.

But it's time to move on,

The easiness between them was gone.

Trust me, their promises were not a mere lie, She replies him "fine" with a heavy sign,

From her side, that was a goodbye.
