Good Old Heartbreak!
By Pritha Biswas
I’d never forgive you for the pain you cause,
There’s a hurricane turmoiling in my heart and I feel a pain so acute,
Feels like it’s shattering my ribcages, there’s a mountain of weight
I carry on my chest every day.
Why’d you leave? You said you loved me, but you don’t.
You have never. It was all a game.
My prayers, my worships,
Was it all in vain?
Ah! What a thrill to know,
That I’ve been betrayed.
Such a whore you are, keep your promises to yourself,
Lies and deception, mama’s ‘good boy’!
If only I knew the man I loved,
Is a ghost, a vampire of a lover
Who sucked life out of me and tossed me
Like a burnt-out cigarette.
But it is you, not I, who should perish
For all the deeds you done,
I am burning in the shower of agony,
Craving for a love so long, staring at the clock.
It is an art. I’m waiting for my turn.
